Welcome to 868.Market!
Congratulations on registering as a vendor on our marketplace. The 868.Market team wants to welcome you to the family. This guide is designed to get you started quickly so that you can hit the ground running and start selling.
You’ll get the message below as our team will need to authorize & activate your profile before you can continue. Your account will be activated within 24 hours or less. After your account is activated you can log into your vendor account and start configuring your store. Please follow the guidelines below.
STEP ONE: Complete your vendor profile
Before you add your first product, the first step is to configure your store settings. This basic housekeeping is necessary for when a customer clicks on any link with your store name. Your store link appears on all your product listings and in the vendor listings.
On this page, the customer sees:
- Your vendor banner image, similar to Facebook cover pic
- Your vendor profile pic, similar to Facebook profile pic
- Your contact info- email, phone etc.
- Products- all products that you have listed
- Biography- A write-up about yourself and your store
- Reviews- Any reviews left by previous customers
You may design your banner and profile using any software you’re comfortable with. Many use the popular free online tool called Canva.
STEP TWO: Start adding products
Select the Products tab and add your first product by clicking on Add new product button. A pop-up windows appears for you to enter the relevant details about your product. The process is intuitive.
Note about product images
A product needs at least one image, and you may upload multiple images if your item has different views. Please note that 868.Market has strict image guidelines:
[a] Images must be square, minimum 700px and maximum 1000px
[b] Images must be on a white background
[c] Images must be centered on background with room on margins for resizing to thumbnails
[d] Images must be in .jpg format, no .png or other formats
[e] Images must be optimized for web, i.e small file size, between 35KB to 75KB. Absolutely no larger than 100KB but few should be this large
You may edit your images on any photo editor you may be comfortable with. There is a free resource from Adobe called Adobe Photoshop Express that allows you to achieve all of the above.
